our history
Since 1926, Morel's Restaurant and Courtyard Inn have been a staple of Pointe Coupee and New Roads. Set on the water, in the heart of downtown New Roads, Morel's offers a traditional boutique experience for dining, lodging, and events. The Inn offers 12 unique rooms and an apartment with comfortable bedding and amenities. Four of our rooms have 2 single beds each in them and eight of our rooms have 1 queen bed in them. Our rooms are meant for max 2 guests. The apartment is approximately 1200 square feet with 1 bedroom containing two queen beds. The apartment also have a fully stocked kitchen with new appliances, large bathroom, kitchen and dining room with a balcony that overlooks False River. The courtyard is a hidden gem where you are welcomed by New Orleans style gas lanterns and the soothing sounds of an antique water fountain.

Nearby, Morel's Restaurant offers spectacular views of False River and morning and evening skylines. You are welcome to join us for cocktails in the afternoon as the sun sets or just before dinner. The restaurant is open Tuesday-Thursday 11am-9pm, Friday & Saturday 11am-10pm and Sunday 11am-2pm. For reservations for large parties, please contact us at (225) 638-4057.

Circa Event Center
Adjacent to the property and ideally located in Downtown New Roads is Circa Event Center, an outstanding event venue for weddings, receptions and parties. Originally a turn of the century fire station built in 1903, the building has been converted to a fully catered event center but still retains its original industrial look and feeling. About Downtown New Roads
Cultural Sites
Historic New Roads has a host of offerings including a charming downtown area with plenty of shops and antiques, including historic sites and wonderful architecture. In our historic district you will find ancient oak trees and vintage turn-of-the-century Louisiana plantation homes. Known as the “Little Carnival Capital” of Louisiana, New Roads followed New Orleans’ example by staging Mardi Gras celebrations as early as 1881. The event continues to this day, drawing thousands of visitors. Make sure you save time during your visit to enjoy Morel's Restaurant just behind the Inn, where you can find many local delicacies and excellent food.

Once your room is booked, you will receive a confirmation email.
Prior to your check-in, you will receive a separate email containing room codes. There is no formal check in procedure as we do not have an office. Your email will contain after hours numbers, wifi passwords, parking details and more.
Reservations must be guaranteed by a major credit card when you reserve. Blackout dates and conditions apply. Time frame to book and check-in same day end at 10pm. You will not be able to book online after 10pm for the same night check-in.

Check-out ends at 11AM
Guests must be at least 21 years old to reserve a room. Guests under 21 years of age must be accompanied by an adult over 21 to stay in the hotel.
Morel's Courtyard Inn is a smoke free environment. Please note that a fee will be charged if smoke is detected in guest rooms.
At this time we are not a pet friendly hotel.
If you must cancel your reservation, please notify us 48 hours prior to arrival to avoid a charge of one night's stay plus tax, unless otherwise noted in the terms & conditions of your booking. If you simply do not check-in, you will be charged one night's stay plus tax.
